Beginner Lesson – 5 (Blues Scale)

Part five in our continuing Beginner’s Lessons focuses on the blues scale. The blues scale, as well as the minor pentatonic scales, are really great and easy ways to get you into soloing quickly. Make sure you learn the scale patterns, fingerings, and be able to shift smoothly between the notes. Once you have it down, try playing some “licks” that you come up with. Then you can look up backing tracks on the internet and solo over those.
